MY STORY.

MY STORY

SALES. BRAND. AGENCY. NEXT.

Different roles. Different perspectives. One career built around helping brands grow.

I've spent 20 years across sales and marketing — selling products, rebuilding brands, launching new ones, and helping turn business challenges into results.

I've worked inside a building products manufacturer. I've spent years on the agency side partnering with some of the industry's most respected brands. And I've had the opportunity to see firsthand how customers, sales teams, marketers and agency partners each shape what ultimately happens in the market.

Each chapter gave me a different perspective.

Now I'm bringing those experiences together through Marketer Craft — putting what I've learned to work for building products manufacturers and their channel partners.

MY JOURNEY

I’VE NEVER BEEN AFRAID TO TAKE A CHANCE.

My career hasn't followed a perfectly straight line.

I've moved from sales into marketing. From the brand side to the agency side. I've taken on new roles, entered new industries and tackled challenges I hadn't faced before. And most recently, I made my biggest bet yet — starting Marketer Craft.

Call it undiagnosed ADHD or just a willingness to embrace change. Each move pushed me outside my comfort zone, forced me to learn quickly and gave me a different perspective on the work.

Together, those experiences have shaped how I think, how I work and the marketer I've become.

SALES TAUGHT ME TO LISTEN.

Before developing marketing strategies, I was sitting across from customers and in the aisle with consumers. Sales taught me how to ask better questions, understand what people actually care about and connect what you're selling to a problem worth solving.

BRAND TAUGHT ME TO OWN THE OUTCOME.

Working inside a major building products manufacturer brought me closer to the business — the customers, sales organization, channel and day-to-day realities behind every marketing decision. Strategy mattered, but so did getting the work done and delivering measurable results.

AGENCY TAUGHT ME TO SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE.

Years on the agency side gave me the opportunity to work across brands, products and business challenges alongside talented strategists, creatives and marketers. I've helped lead more than 15 brand strategy initiatives and 20+ product launches for some of the most recognized names in building products.

Different roles. Different risks. Different lessons. Each one made me better at what I do next.

WHAT DRIVES ME
An orange square with rounded corners.

CLEAR THINKING.
SOUND DECISIONS.
RESULTS THAT MATTER.

These principles guide how I work, what I write, and the clients I work with. They’re at the core of Marketer Craft and represent what I believe great marketing is all about.

HOW I'M WIRED

APPARENTLY, I’M A DECISIVE STRATEGIST.

At Interrupt, our team went through Myers-Briggs personality assessments. Mine came back as an ENTJ — Decisive Strategist.

The name has always stuck with me because it captures a lot about how I approach my work. I'm naturally curious and quick to dig into a problem. I like asking questions, challenging assumptions, connecting the dots and bringing structure to situations that aren't always clear.

But I'm not interested in strategy for strategy's sake. I want to make a decision, build a plan and put it into action.

That combination of strategic thinking and a bias toward action has shaped how I've worked throughout my career — and it's a big part of what I bring to Marketer Craft today.

BEYOND WORK
Orange rounded square background.

Husband. Father. Dachshund Herder. Pickleballer.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me playing pickleball, traveling with my family, spending time outdoors, watching the Buckeyes or playing pickleball. (Did I mention pickleball?)

I live in Sylvania, Ohio, with my wife, Sarah, a longtime teacher, our daughter, Emma, and our two long-haired dachshund brothers, Wally and Frankie.

I also believe in giving back. I volunteer with our neighborhood HOA and Team Rubicon, a nonprofit that mobilizes volunteers to help communities recover from natural disasters in the U.S. and around the world.

A FEW THINGS THAT KEEP ME GROUNDED.

WHY MARKETER CRAFT
Orange square with rounded corners

GOOD MARKETING IS A CRAFT.

I chose the name Marketer Craft because I believe getting good at marketing is a skill you develop over time — much like any craft.

And, let’s be honest, because the domain name was available.

You learn the fundamentals. You do the work. You make mistakes. You pay attention to what works and learn from every new challenge.

Over time, those experiences build something that’s hard to shortcut: judgment.

Knowing which questions to ask. Recognizing the real problem. Knowing when to dig deeper — and when it’s time to stop debating and get moving.

Nearly 20 years in, I’m still learning and refining the craft.

That’s what Marketer Craft represents: better thinking, better decisions and better marketing.
